I recently purchased a used SF 2.3 UL. My question for those with experience with this kite is: Do the slip knots for the bridle go above the bead or between the bead and the knot just below the bead? When I received the kite some slip knots were above the blue beads others were sandwiched between the blue bead and the knot.
Also, at the bridle points at the upper spreader there's a knot in the middle between the two beads. When would I use that setting, or would I?

Mine came with the knots above - meaning that, when you are flying the kite, the tension on the bridle will be exerted on the beads.  I have no idea if this is the norm, but mine came new that way and flew like a champ.

When you are tricking, you will hear the beads clanking around hitting the kite in various spots, don't worry about it.

I didn't find a big difference between the red and blue bead settings, but some claim to.  Some folks remove the beads - I never did, but only because I felt that were needed due to the attach points being above them.  Otherwise, I would have pulled them - they look junky.

The slip knots are called (larksheads), which go above the beads. It is very easy to make a mark above each bead and then remove the beads. Now tie an overhand knot where you made the mark. The overhand knot takes the place of the bead and no more clanking. If you don't think you can untie and retie the end loops, just break the beads (carefully) with a hammer. Now undo the larkshead knots and put the overhand knots where you marked them. Color code the knots using marker pens so you can distinguish between the 3 point and turbo bridle positions. Do one side at a time so you can always use the other side for reference.

I've already removed the beads and tied knots at the positions. The clanking was driving me nuts. Kept thinking I was breaking something. Thanks for the help.
