I went to the AKA Nationals as a Novice and was able to finish in 4th place in Precision. That is as close to glory as I ever got.
But I did have my $900 used 1 MP Nikon 900s.
I met all these amazing people: Doug, Ari, Ron, Mark, JW, Ed Shenk, Lam, Kmac and several others whose names escape my mind at the moment.
After going through the pictures from the Nationals, the one photo which struck me was RonG's hand holding a SLK. It may be the only proof we have he ever flew a SLK.
So here it is for posterity, Ron Graziano's hand:

He did also loan a Shiva SUL to me for the final demo of the entire event. I believe he and Ari may have been the only people nice enough to stick around and watch a beginner attempt to keep a kite up to music in almost non-existent wind.
Thanks Ron.

You scowl a lot, but all of us know you're a really nice guy.
