Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

.... if there is anyone on this forum who is involved in this quote about me ?

From what i've been told by people on another forum and the locals here in the US that have met him is that he's barely current in his flying rep. (jerky was the word used) has no real proof of doing anything worthy except dropping gobs of currency on bling kites he cant fly well. So its basically all internet fame & knob shining. no wood.

So my question is: since when did I have internet fame ?  Huh

You see I haven't flown with anyone outside of Finland for years so I'm just a'wondering where this came from.  Cheesy

Mike,
the voices may not be real but that's no reason not to pretend that they are.

 Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

More proof that people spend more time worrying about what's going on in the other lane, rather than the one they are driving in.

"From what i've been told by people on another forum"

Eeeekkk... Truly?  The gospel according to people on another forum.  Wait someone call the press!!

Still more reasons for the animals to point, stare and laugh when we visit them in the zoos... above and beyond the prevalence certain shades of plaid shorts and the rampant abuse/misuse of lycra/spandex.

ATB,
Sam

P.S Apparently you need to hire a new PR firm or stop paying them in yo-yos.  Wink

I did hear that you were really tall and fairly intimidating.
I could believe both of those.

_____________

As far as doling out pertinent kite information and generating continued interest in VFxx, I can also believe that.

_____________

Beyond that, you have my respect, not something given lightly.  Smiley

They must be talking about me not you.
I have bought so many top of the line kites and sold them and I can't fly worth a crap.

i can attest to that. at the flying field he still calls me "hey kid"

"Hey kid, can I fly your kite?"
"Hey kid, get the hell out of my flying space!"
"Hey kid, stop stepping all over my kites!"
"Hey kid, get your hands off my wife!"

Geez john, what does it take to earn your respect?

So, who are they talking about??? Except for the fame, it seems like that could apply to most of us.

Cheesy Who's your publicist?   Cool  "Any press is good press"   Roll Eyes
Publicity is the deliberate attempt to manage the public's perception of a subject. The subjects of publicity include people (for example, politicians and performing artists, Forum Moderators), and works of art or entertainment.

From a marketing perspective, publicity is one component of promotion which is one component of marketing. The other elements of the promotional mix are advertising, sales promotion, and personal selling.  But the publicist cannot wait around for the news to present opportunities. They must also try to create their own news. Examples of this include:
Kite forums
Event sponsorship
Arrange a speech or talk
Take a stand on a controversial subject
Stage a debate
