Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

OOOh!

So if I'm understanding this right?  Holes should be about 3/8" dia., and we will have to guess which panels will get holes and which won't and then how many.  Right!?

.......................so one last question, which probably doesn't deserve and probably won't get an answer.................................does this Rev have to fly after all the perforations, or not?

I know ...no rules ...............that can be changed at anytime Grin Grin Grin Sad

**Brian O** or anybody else not familiar with the kite - Rev I's were/are 108" wide by 36" tall, that is rods end to end, the sail is slightly smaller.

**making holes** I would go to you hardware or hobby shop and get some tubing to put on that soldering gun so you are melting out a hole, not melting a hole, it will make cleaner edges that way but you'll have to roll it around 360 to get a full clean cut.

Good luck to everybody

ATTENTION: CONTEST ON HOLD.
Beater Rev 1.5 on its way to me.
I will post a picture for all to view. Every one who has already guessed will get a 2nd guess and your first guess will still count. That is your reward for voting early. So, once the photo is posted, new guessing starts and a deadline date will be announced.

My thanks to a very good friend north of the border.

There may be possibility of a beater Rev 1 joining the contest. That would be 2 guesses, one for each kite.

Contest starts again.

Holey kite will be the B-Series Rev 1.5 shown at the start of this topic. Everyone who entered and stated as such in this thread will get a new guess for the Rev 1.5 and their previous guess will also count.

Put CONTEST in your email to Steve Hall.

If you're going to use a soldering iron after all, you should use one like this:

Bambi also has a wood burning set, so who knows what will get used.  Roll Eyes

Rev 1 holes guess re-submitted and new guess for holes in B-Series Rev submitted.

I'm beginning to think John needs a third hobby to occupy his time.

Wouldn't it be more realistic to say a fourth hobby?

Just kiddin' John.  I can't imagine what the first two would be, anyway. Undecided

Let me get this straight Godfather...

You are going to poke holes in what looks to be a very serviceable B Series?

I'm going to go lie down now...

I know Jim. But the kite has had several hundred hours of use and has been "retired" by our good friend up north.

It is a B-Series and one of the better color combinations IMHO.

I'll be thinking of Mr. Barresi every time I send that hot iron through the fabric.  Cheesy

this contest makes me sad...
can't you think of a more positive way to promote kites rather than burning holes in one? Sad
