One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

i lived in santa barbara for four years and didn't find the flying there satisfying at all.
although the kites have changed quite a bit since i lived there but i didn't find there to be enough wind. when there was there weren't any large enough open spaces which didn't have a ton of people.

I lived in S.B. a little over 20 years ago. I used to live on the Mesa, across from the City College. I used to walk down to the beach and fly a stack of Rainbow stunt kites on the beach all the time.
Since then I've visited a few times and I found the winds quite nice with a Rev.

According to the gadget on the web page, it's a 2091 mile drive for me now. Guess I wont be making the festival.

oh darn i could have made that festival!  my sunday was free.  who went and are there any pictures of the event?
