Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I recently received a Tori Tako Mosquito. I had a vague memory of seeing one way back in the day and wanting it, so I pounced. All I really knew was it was a small, nice looking kite.

And it is small and nice looking. What struck me on first assembly was the familiar size & shape. I pulled out my old Prism Micron and sure enough, same size. But more than just wingspan, there are enough design and construction similarities that one kite surely influenced the design of the other.

The Micron has a hunk of heavy duty mylar in the middle and heavier bridle & fittings giving it a good upper wind range. It also has a bit more sail area.

The Mosquito has a deeper cut trailing edge, and an all nylon sail. More of a medium wind kite that's pretty radical. I'm looking forward to flying it in 5-10 wind. in 15 it was way over powered.
