One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Does anyone know what year Prism discontinued the Ozone. I had a guy tell me today that he just bought a new one at some unnamed store for $130. When I told him I thought those had been discontinued a while ago, he wasn't having any of it. I suppose he could have found someone with one hiding among old inventory but I was just curious how long it had been.

I think they were discontinued around 2002-2003ish. They were still readily available when I got into dual line flying, but I wasn't ready to spend that much on a part-time kite. When I was ready to buy one, new ones were few & far inbetween. The Oz is the only Prism kite still in my 'A' bag...

i know that there is a "shop" (on wheels) that has lots of out of production pieces if you are willing to, and are able to talk him into letting you into the corners - you never know what you might find there....

completely reasonable that a shop might have been sitting on a brandy new ozone that had been tucked away...happens...

Its not better, just in a different class.  The Ozone is not the trick monster the tattoo can be but a smooth flyer and flat spin tricker.

John, the next time we end up flying Tattoos side by side, ask me to try my Ozone. It's always in my bag.

I guess it's my why of saying I like one but for $500+? But it's so revered by everyone ... Why is why I keep the Benson Inner Space for the 1-2 days there is just a whisper of wind at the beach and the Tattoo can't even stay central and UP.

The Ozone doesn't go for $500... maybe the Vapor is what you're thinking of ? I had a Vapor, but sold it, and kept the Ozone. The Ozone is a little smaller, certainly isn't as visually exciting as the Vapor, but can fly in the same winds. The Ozone is much more robust than the Vapor, that's why I sold my Vapor... I couldn't bear the possibility of wrecking it accidentally on my rough beach.

Ozone...

2002 was the last year that Prism had the Seattle made Ozone (GWTW retail $180). The made in China Ozone remained in production through 2005 (GWTW retail $195).

Ozone...

That's one of my all time favorite color schemes for the Ozone.

The analogous color scheme for the Alien was called "Fierce"

Thanks, Sam... now I know why Jim wanted to buy my Ozone from me. He did buy my Vapor, coincidentally...
