Hi,
I got myself a Kodak Playsport...unbelievable value at $150...It has four resolution settings: VGA, 720p HD, 720p @ 60hz HD for fast action, and 1080p and it has a 5mp digital still mode (all of which with auto vibration reduction)...it also is watertight up to 3metres and I have taken plenty (amazingly cool) underwater videos in the pool...
It's also very small, light but durable...as you might have seen in the video section of the forum, I mounted one of those on a Prism Quantum (simply stuffed into an empty cigarette pack and then velcro'ed to the kite) and it survived a crash into a palm tree without a scratch...the video I posted doesn't do it justice though since at 720p and 60hz the original video I have on my computer is incredibly sharp and flicker free...
It does have a screen for watching what you are shooting (or to replay what you just shot)...only slight drawback is that it only has a limited digital zoom that's rather slow if you want to follow some action and go in and out of zoom...but for most occasions the depth of field is quite nice
Ok, I sound like a Kodak rep...but I have to say I love it for it's size, versatility, durability, quality and you can't beat the price (for HD camcorders anyway)...just make sure you get a large enough multi-gig sd card (I have a 16 Gig which is good for 3 hours of 1080p recording)...
Hope this helps,
