Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

How does one go about loading pics onto GWTW???

I'm getting ready to post a sale and have no clue how to load pics to display for the sale.

Anyone? Wasn't sure where to post this so I figured this might be a good start.

Thanks

Small pics can be attached directly in the posting window.

  • Click Additional Options
  • Click Browse to locate the file on your hard drive.
  • Click (more attachments) to add multiple attachments (limit 3)

Attachments have a limit of 100KB each.

If you have more images or larger images.  Host them on a site Flickr or TinyPic (requires no login or registration). and then use the "img" tag to display the image.

So this
[ img]http://www.elasmo-research.org/education/topics/topic_images/manta_dance.gif[/img]

Would display this (there should be no blank spaces between the square brackets and the tags).

Hope that helps.

I followed these directions and the image that I downloaded is visible when I am logged in but not when I am a guest.  Other photos are visible when I am a guest.

How do I make the image visible to guests so that when I point others to the page url they will be able to see the image?

Were the images linked to using the [img] tag or were they attached? It might be that attachments are not visible to guests which is a common convention among forum software.

As usual Sam, you are correct.  Files that you upload and attach can only be seen by members that are logged in.

Alas no.... I was futzing with my FKD Skate around the time I was posting so the content of my post was biased by that  Wink

I love this kind of artwork though.
