I think i like the "psycho therapy" bridle better though
Hi Dudes!
I've made a new bridle for my Psycho, its the turbo bridle from Piero Cosimos site
http://digilander.libero.it/StuntKite/misure_briglie.htm . The Psycho is not in the list, but I'll post the measurements. I made som minor changes to it, after going over my Level One L2 bridle I applied the bridle adjusting system that is used by Level One. These are the measurments:
UA = 26 cm (this leg is adjustable "Level One like" ergo its made out of two pieces, 3 knots gives a UA with these lengths 21 cm, 26 cm and 31 cm)
LA = 31 cm
AT = 13 cm
ST = 58 cm
It took me about 1,5 hours to make the bridle, and I've never done anything like that before!!!!!!
The bridle is a turbo bridle so if you visit Pieros site you wil use the figureB Turbo Briglia.
To tell it straight, I honestly have no clues on bridle, bridle adjustments or what to expect from a Turbo bridle!!! (Feel free to fill me in since this is latin, chinese and qeuderwelsh to me.)
I can tell you this much from how the Psycho behaved that the changes are radical. I've only flown the Psycho in light to no wind after the new bridle arrangement, but it shure looks promissing. My brother tried to fly his L1 Easy std on 10m lines due to the light wind, and he had to run to even get the kite in flight. I flew my Psycho alongside him on 20m lines and had only to walk slowly backwards to fly the kite. The window was suddenly much bigger than before. The kite had non of the "oversteeryness" which my Psycho showed in less wind condition with the original bridle. It was easy to get slow trick movements out of the kite, something that I missed on the original bridle.
To describe it in another way, the wind I flew my Psycho on today was so low that I did not bother to assemble my Level One L2 ( fixed with ripstop tape) because I knew that if I were to fly the L2 in this low wind it would be hard work and lots of running backwards.
Well for me this was a new kite! The Psycho in the original was a bag fill. The reason for this is; I don't like the way it flies, it handles high wind (main reason for keeping it).
Now its a kite I'll take out to fly in lesser wind too, and I'm looking forward to fly it in strong wind, only hope that some of what is showed in light wind will be there in higher wind too.....................I'll keep you posted on the matter!!
BTW check out the link to Pieros site, the list of new bridles there is geting longer and longer, next up for a new bridle is my L2!
