One month from today (10 September 2010) registration closes for non-Novice competitors for the Richmond Washington Regional Sport Kite Competition (RWRSKC). Novice competitors may register anytime prior to their competition. The competition is on 18 September – less than 6 weeks from now. Don’t delay. Get your registration in. The figures are posted on the website
http://www.richmondairforce.com/RWRSKC/index.htm as is the registration form. Precision will be run according to AKA rules, so points will count for the 2010-2011 season (which ends with the AKA Grand Nationals that will be held somewhere in the East in 2011).
RWRSKC 2010 will offer individual dual- and multi-line precision and ballet events. Novice Multi-line Precision and Ballet will be offered this year! The AKA is currently evaluating the effectiveness of adding a Novice class to the multi-line disciplines, and are dependent on events like RWRSKC to demonstrate whether or not adding a Novice class will bring more folks into sport kite competition. If you've been flying multi-line for a while but never competed, or have just started and would like to learn more about multi-line competition, then RWRSKC '10 is a perfect opportunity for you!
RWRSKC 2010 will also offer a novice flying clinic for new fliers that will pair each novice with an experienced flier to teach basic precision skills, landings, maybe even some basic tricks! This will take place on Saturday morning, which will allow new competitors to sharpen their skills before competing.
Don’t delay. Get your registration sent in. Also, if anyone has an interest in sponsoring this event, donations are welcome. AKA sanctioning has increased this year.
