One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

As I see it, they are really doing the sport kite scene a big flavor by supplying new beginners with some high performance cheap kites.  Once they got hooked, they will spend big $$$ to get the 'real thing'.  I think it will help the original kite makers in the end. Smiley

It will be a 'crime' if the copied kites have fake logos or brand name in them.

Someone here told me that the xxxxxx xxx is a Lam's SD copy and they sell it at half price and is done for years now.  The xxxxxx xxx kites are regularly buying and selling here in the swap meet.  So what is the big deal.

This is the job of the original makers to take actions against the fakes but I'm doubt they have the financial mean or will to follow through.  They are just too small.

LV has a lot of money and still can't do anythings with all the fake LV bags.

I think the best that we can do is to educate new fliers regarding the issues and starting to pay more attentions from NEW members who is selling new brand name kites through the Swap Meet.  By the way, my pal's Cosmic TC Vented in the Swap Meet is the real McCoy.  Cheesy

You can buy from GWTW members like myself with excellent feedback.  Wink  Just kidding.  Smiley Smiley Smiley

I think you should only buy from kite shops that have good reputations and long history or buy directly from kite builders.  This is what we are doing now anyway.  Don't buy any brand name new kites from xb6y or other auction/internet sites.  I think it is easy to avoid buying fakes.
