One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hello all,

The first event of the 2010-11 Eastern League season will be the Outer Banks Sport Kite Competition (OBSKC) at the historic Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, NC on October 2 - 3, 2010.  The Birthplace of Flight is an awesome place to fly a kite in early October!  You can easily register for OBSKC 2010 at http://www.easternleague.net/RegistrationOBSKC.html.  All non-novice competitors for OBSKC must register no later than September 25, 2010, so don't wait!  You can also pay your registration fees online by clicking on the "Pay Now" button when you submit your online registration form.

OBSKC 2010 is put on by Wes Gutenkunst at Kitty Hawk Kites and Kitebus Festivals, with Jim Cosca as your Chief Judge.  For more information about the event, go to http://www.kittyhawk.com/community/events.cfm.

Also, coming up on September 18, the Richmond/Washington Regional Sport Kite Championships (RWRSKC) will be taking place at Taylor Park in Ashland, VA.  RWRSKC is a regional event with a specific focus on encouraging and tutoring novice and first-time competitors and is a great opportunity for folks who are thinking about competing to "get their feet wet".  For the experienced and masters flier, RWRSKC is a great opportunity to "warm up" for OBSKC!  You can register online for RWRSKC at http://www.richmondairforce.com/RWRSKC/registration.htm.

Hello all,

Just wanted to remind everyone that registration for the Outer Banks Stunt Kite Competition (OBSKC) ends this Saturday, 9/25, so don't wait!  Registering is easy, just go to http://www.easternleague.net/RegistrationOBSKC.html, fill out the form, and you're done!  You can even pay your registration fees online with a Paypal account or any major credit card, the form even calculates your fees for you.

If you're a novice, sure, we'll take your registration on the field, but if you know you're coming, go ahead and register, it makes it easier for events to be scheduled.  I'm looking forward to this event, I learned how to fly a kite at the Outer Banks, and it's always cool to hang out at the birthplace of manned flight!  And of course, it's the Outer Banks in October, which means there will be wind!
