One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Wings Over Washington kite club has a home field, the 1st Sunday of each month.  It is the "west side of the Washington Monument" downtown DC unless otherwise noted on the web-site.  wow kite club dot com ~ all one word.

No parking, significant traffic both vehicular and pedestrian, a vast assortment of security personnel, sprinklers that turn-on randomly, presidential helicopters requiring everything to be grounded, no liquid or food vendors, no stakes placed into the soil, bathrooms can be hit or miss depending on crowds and the time of day.

The reason we put up with all this crap is because there are always big crowds of spectators at the capitol mall.  I don't even want to fly without witnesses anymore!
