Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Steve did that for you even though the problem was no fault of his. His investment in time and effort for you has far exceeded any profit he made and still you feel you need to take a dump on his porch?

I'm sure we've all dealt with people for whom an Apology is never enough, not even a public Apology will appease them.

Endless emails, phone calls and conversations will not change the situation either as we all know.

Maybe skabt should write up the apology he expects and lay out exactly what he feels he is owed and start another poll on whether he's being reasonable or not Cheesy

I'm guessing his local store is inexplicably closed for lunch no matter what time he goes by   Roll Eyes

I sense something more.  I get the feeling this guy is intentionally creating 'material' on GWTW.

To the original poster:  Why in the world would you post this stuff here in the first place?  Are you going to try and ruin Steve's reputation with a thread on his own forum...over less than 25USD worth of spars you could have bought locally in the first place?  And are you suggesting that Steve somehow ordered the wrong parts for you?  So now he's making multiple schoolboy errors because he doesn't take your business seriously?  Excuse me, but shut your bong hole.

I'd be more likely to believe that you are pulling a scam by reporting that a kite arrived with half its parts missing.  Your public expression of displeasure over the purchase of an incomplete toy set is disproportionate to the projected maximum level of possible genuine disappointment associated with whatever happened.

I haven't bought much from Steve, but I have never had an issue.  And he provides this forum for which I am also grateful.

As you were.

Yup, I screwed the pooch on this one.
My fault for not having checked the kites before shipping and for not responding in a more timely fashion.
The parts were ordered from the manufacturer the next business day (Monday August 30th). and were mailed the same day they arrived (Friday, Sept 3rd).

IMHO       I  think  Steve   took respouceablty   right  here   in the   this  thread   and   said  oops  I made a  mistake   and  treid  to make it right and let me ask this  question   how  many other Forum Adims  would  have left  a  thread  bashing them up for this long  if  they were not honest  person that made a mistake  which we all  do    that  my .02      worth

It appears that the forum is now the means of communication.  I'd rather not do it this way but I'm okay with that if you prefer.  I will be sending you a copy of your email that described your missing parts along with the invoice from Flying Wings that shows that the parts ordered and received were what you requested.

I have apologized and feel that I owned up to the mistake of not fully checking the kites before I shipped.  I am also committed to making sure you get what you paid for.  You keep bringing up the 12 hours to respond to your initial email.  According to the information I have on my end that email was received Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 3:32 AM.  You followed that up with an email Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 1:54 PM.
I responded Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM "Sorry for the delay in responding.  I do try to take at least one or two days off each week to spend some time with my family.
I am sorry for the issues with the kites.  I will get this taken care of with Flying Wings on Monday and send replacements out immediately."

I notified you the day that the replacement parts were mailed.  After which you put the transaction in dispute with PayPal.
