One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Thanks for the photos....and posting the results. There are a few of us "speed freaks" on this forum who have an interest in "Speed Kites". Now all we need is a few of you guy's to sell us some of your speed kites (used...or new)....and maybe we can get something going here in the U.S.
We do have some talented builders here...would be interesting to see if one of them might design and build a prototype or two. Maybe some of us "speed freaks" would consider chipping in and funding said prototype?

Thanks,
Chris

You should have a try with the Tsunami. The Tsunami of a friend was 166km/h at the contest!!!

Don't often have suitable winds here but always sort of wanted one.

One thing that is never posted with these contests is what the wind speed was during the attempts, is there a minimum speed set like in many sport kite comps?

We had very varied winds during the contest, between 5 and 35km/h.
Thats why you have 3 mins time to make as many passes of the radar as you can manage, plus more then one round as well.
We had 3 runs, 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday.
But so far we have no fixed lower end windspeed in our rules.

so a high wind off 22 MPH got some of you up to 105 - 110 MPH for us metrically challenged, dang impressive.

I don't recall the old 1990's record with a Flexifoil 8 set way back when, as I recall though it was in that area but under much higher winds. Curious now what is the best speed achieved these last few years? Sounds like you all have blown that old published record away. Anybody ever written up a little artical for John over at Kitelife on the current state of speedkiting?
