One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

Here's one set of tweeks

Kevin Doublet has the most famous setup for the radically minded QPro owner but I can't track down the link.

Sending out an SOS... (Am I the only one, or does someone else hear 'The Police' in their heads when they read those words???)

Hi Kevin,

I'm slowly getting my head around the QP's and in many ways they are excellent kites, I just would like them to perform tricks better. I can feel in it in the lines they are capable but as a standard set up it just does not work. By the way it's shorts and T shirt weather in sunny Queensland, Brisbane, Australia with a beautiful sea breeze, just beautiful. Thanks mate

The Quantum Pro is an excellent kite.

Yes, you need to do a little nose trimming to minimize snags.
But after you do that....

It is a well made and attractive kite.
It will fly lines better than Keith Richards ever laid out.
It will do tricks very well and at a pace all can enjoy. It is merely a matter of slowing your timing down from the current epileptic pace which is all the rage these past few years.
My favorite kite video is of Matt McGee with a QP SUL in and out of the water.
And the sliding weight system gives the pilot more adjustment possibilities than any other kite. Granted, the stock upper 2 weights are beyond heavy.
They are a more capable trick kite than 99.9% of the experts here on the Forum will ever need.

Mike still owns the best looking Quantum Pro.... (YMMV caveat implicit).

Wish Prism would recant on the whole custom colors thing.

I like the QPro Std best with a 10g weight attached to the standard weight kit (so 17g I think) with the weight very low on the spine (the adjustment all the way down).   I felt the smallest weight that came with the weight kit (20g I think) was too much.

The QPro does not wait around in a turtle for you, so you have to give it the input (for a lazy susan) for example, when it drops - too soon or too late and it doesn't like work out.

Hi Kevin,

Hi Keith
I was just kidding, I KNEW it would get a rise out of WinterDaze  Wink

QPros are excellent kites, they trick just fine.  I think you just want them to perform tricks YOUR way.  This is the only issue I had with mine, it almost demanded I fly the Prism or Mark Reed way.  When I put the effort in, I could do this and was rewarded with some excellent flying.  Unfortunately, I am too ham fisted and stuck in my bad habit ways to change permanently, hence the love/hate issue.

By the way it's shorts and T shirt weather in sunny Queensland, Brisbane, Australia with a beautiful sea breeze, just beautiful.

According to this morning's news report, that didn't last too long!

Have fun
