Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Looks like you were finding your groove there John, if I may ask a slightly impertinent  question, Did you need to spend much time on the dual lines to get back into the swing of things?

Oh and welcome back  Wink

Nope, didn't spend much time to "get back in the groove"... One, twenty years of muscle memory, and two, I didn't drop dual line, I was (and still am) focused on promoting and building the Rev community... I never stopped flying dual, just didn't do it as much over the past 4-5 years... Now shifting a portion of my energy back to duals.

I can attest to this, John picked up my Talon UL at Cape Fear last November and completely schooled me on it, despite his never having flown one before Smiley

You did some schooling of your own Jared, congrats on the AKA wood in Seaside this year. Smiley

Also, the Kymera prototype looked real good in your hands when you flew it on Saturday there! <grin>

Man, John you even make ol' delta park in portland seem glamorous!  when the wind decides which direction its blowing from! Shocked

Thanks Jeremy!

Isn't that you on your Ocius, in the background at :30 into the Delta Park video? Smiley

==

I actually like Delta Park, and street flying for that matter, as much as I love smooth, clean beach wind.

When you really get into it, riding and understanding the texture of turbulent wind, cuing into the changing wind directions, using slack and tension critically through the inconsistency is so AWESOME.

Fly at a nice place usually, go to a nice place, it's the same.

Fly at a rough place, go to a nice place, you fly like a king. Smiley

It's all about challenge and learning curve, but mostly, it's what you make of it. <grin>

That's been some of my bread and butter for the past twenty years... Fly in anything, anytime, anywhere.

Of course, all that is moot when someone is learning from the ground up, bad wind always sucks for brand new fliers... Difficult, if they don't have at least the basic foundation of skills to draw on.
