I'm about to order one of these - anyone have some long term reports on it?  I think Denny has one.  I thought he had posted some pictures here, but I can't find them now.

I like the Prism speed bag for taking a small number of kites, but want something for when I want to take a few sets with me.

You might want to contact fidelio. Very nice bag with well thought out features.

No sharp corners for the zippers to navigate
Opening is on one side, not the middle, so it forms a bowl to keep out sand
Opening is offset (side to side) forming a cupped bottom which holds in kites
High visibility white stripe
All the usual inner pockets for linesets
Padded heavy duty construction

He owns this one:

The Vector kitebag is a good bag but take care : it's only 165 cm long and too short for some big wings like Atelier Masque, Prism Total Eclipse, Flexifoil Matrix, Transfer xt.s...  Wink

Happily the Vector is longer than the Flying Wing Bag, which is very well made but too dark and too short IMHO by about 2 inches.

I like the Vector Kite Bag very much because there is a lot of space for many Kites. But there are also a few features I don't like.

1. 1.65m is a little bit to short
2. You can't fit the Vector like a backpack
3. I don't use the compartments for the winder any more. I think they are too tight for long and strong lines.

I just bought a 2nd bag, the HQ Travelbag. It is 1.80m long and the kites a "very comfortable" in it - good for travelling by plane. It's a pitty that HQ doesn't produce them any more  Angry

I got mine about 7 months ago. I'm still liking it a lot. It holds plenty of kites. Has lots of pockets for parts etc. And Prism winders fit in the line pockets quite well. I don't see this bag wearing out, but if it did I'd want to replace it with another just the same.
Tom, maybe this is the link you were looking for; http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php?topic=2686.0

I have been using the Avia kite bag for the last ten years. Big, holds everything I have ever flown. I got 2 as a gift from Avia, one is still in the closet. Can't seem to wear out or screw up this water proof, bullet proof bag.

To bad they never made to many of them... Sad

it's long enough to hold every kite i have. the longest of which is a qpro-vv and fits just fine.

pros:
  • plenty of storage space
  • no snag zipper path
  • well padded
  • water resistant, maybe waterproof fabric
  • encapsulating kayak shaped, things don't fall out when open, sand fighting design
  • padded handle and shoulder strap
  • easy to see in dim light snazzy graphics
  • very nice organizer pocket on top
  • easy grab rope zipper pulls pre-installed
  • hard line set winders don't stress the kites or bag when in place
  • well constructed
  • moderately priced
  • body bag type double end straps for that stylish two person corpse carrying look

cons:
  • it's not free
  • it's not commonly available in the states

The Vector is super nice looking and very functional bag.  Too bad I got only two kites and cannot fill it up or I would get one too. The price is 75Euro including VAT. We are outside EU and don't need to pay VAT. What is the cost if excluding VAT ? I check the Kitehouse site and currently the bag is out-of-stock.

I think this is the best looking kite bag around.  Smiley Smiley Smiley

one problem with the really nice looking bags is they say STEAL ME FIRST!!! to thieves.

I prefer less flashy bags that look cheap & beat up instead of something that looks like expensive new sporting gear.

cons:
  • it's not free
  • it's not commonly available in the states

  • It's free, if you are at an open bar and one of your friends gets drunk enough to be overly generous with their credit card.
  • Through an odd series of events the Vector bag should be readily available through a handful of US retailers now. There was some begging, and more than a little irony involved. Huh

Looks like you can get this bag for around $100 US - less than I had expected considering how happy everyone is with them and the relative cost of the r-sky bag.
