Which lifter for a 7.5 meters windsock ?

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

i know that Decathalon makes a soft foil that would probably work well....it is the same kite as a New Tech skyhook....just different colors.....
that should be able to lift that sock...........

I think the white flow form in the background was actually lifting the spin socks.

I'd say a 100 sq foot flow form would work just fine. Perhaps even a 50.

Cool video!  Seeing a "train" of those windsocks is really impressive.

I'd guess something less than 100 ft² would be just fine.  In good wind I've flown my Willi Koch 'Hydroid' using an 11' Gomberg Ghost as the lifter.  The Hydroid has an opening of ~5' and barely any venting, so it probably pulls the line down almost as much as those large turbines. In light wind the Ghost doesn't have enough pull, and the line makes a terribly low angle up to the Hydroid.  Using my Skyform-60 as the lifter, the Hydroid barely deflects the line angle at all.

Using my 11' Ghost to lift some tube tails and the Hydroid (near the bottom right corner). The black DC is on a seperate line...

The white Flow Form on the video is a "Lifter" 2 m x 2 m (4 m²) from Colours in Motion.
