Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

i can't figure out how to make my windows media player the default player?  Since Steve started using the creative player with his Mp3... that player comes on everytime now and it doesn't give me a choice of what player I want to use when i view a wmv. 

anyone know how i can change the default?

Assuming you are using XP, right click on a mpg file,
Open with >> Choose Program
Select WMP
Check the 'always use this program to open this type of file' (not necessarily word for word, but close)  box.

Unless your computer is unusually grouchy that should work.

open in new window
open in new tab
bookmark
save link
copy link location
properties
look up on answers.com
email this

we do have windows xp..

You need to do that to a file saved on your disk, my bad.

if you're using internet explorer look at this page:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859

if you're using firefox go to the menus and go: tools > options > applications (tab)
there you'll see the associations which tell the browser what to do when you encounter content.

you could also go into windows media player and in the menus go: tools > options > file types (tab)
there you'll see the associations which tell the player what to do when you encounter content.
