One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Green Hill Park, Roanoke
isn't that the place where the Blue Ridge Kite Festival takes place?
(in April I believe)

There certainly should be some locals around by now, we've been going there for the Fest for over decade under the direction of Terry Murray.  Last time there were over ten thousand spectators!

That is what I thought, but after several days flying at green Hill Park, Have yet seen one person. Also I'm pretty ate up with it and find that 30 degree weather really is not that bad when I'm enjoying flying my kites.

Donald and I have been in communication and we are planning a "It's Too Darned Cold To Fly" kite fly at Greenhill Park on New Years Day.  This is a traditional event with the RAF in Richmond, VA and I thought we should try it here in the SW of the state.

It is supposed to be in the 50s that day, so pack up your kites and a lunch and come on over!

The whole world is invited to attend!
