Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

This year the Maryland Kite Society is bringing in Robert Brasington to present two projects, a single line kite and a spinner. Robert's kite presentation is “Kindness of Strangers.”

His spinner is the “Bambino Macro Kinetico."

Robert says these projects can be made in several color schemes, and (if you plan to build them) he would like to know what color(s) you prefer. He will bring the parts in the right colors already cut out.

Ron Petralito of Wings Over Washington is also presenting. His project is an inexpesive kite made from butcher paper, straping tape and wood dowels. You won't believe how cool a kite can be made from a few bucks in parts. Ron’s kite, invented specially for this retreat, is called the “2011 MKS Koi Kite." (A picture can be seen at (edit: Mike hope you don't mind, that link didn't work, see the pic below-mikenchico) Http://www.kitebuilder.com/forums/album_pic.php?pic_id=8744).

We are back at the Truf Valley Resort in Ellicot City, MD. This is a fabulous place with full spa facilities. Special rates are available through 21 January. Call (410) 465-1500 or 888-833-8873 and use our Group code: 27P0GK. Get registration forms at www.mdkites.org.
