Hi everyone, first one of the year! This is basically a fun weekend of flying kites (skydog kites) hosted by Andy Sias of Ocean Shores and yours truely, (Dodd Gross) of Skydog Kites ( Please contact me if you are interested in attending. There are hotel discount rates, Bon Fire and Cookout is scheduled for Saturday(weather permitting)

This used to be what we called my Flight Schools, but now it has turned into something completely different. No real schedule, no competition, no formal training, no fees, this is a free event. If you want instruction, just ask, other than that, we invite you to check out the new designs with our new company Skydog Kites and simply, hang out, have fun, and fly kites!

Last year we had a really great turnout of some of the nicest people I have met in kiting in a long time and we believe that number will double this year. I will post more info in a couple of days.

This is a SKYDOG Kites EVENT!

Just got back from Ocean Shores. Despite the weather and high wind conditions, we all had a wonderful time and I want to thank all of you for driving (some over 4 hours!)so far just to fly kites on a windy cold beach with me. Thank you so much! Actually, most of us have red sunburnt faces from Friday and Sunday....

Most people from last year came with a few more this year which more than doubled our size. The winds were high (15+mph) off the land most of the time except Sunday when it came from the south? Lets see left coast, yeah south.

We would have had at least 50 fliers on Sunday, but the afternoon rains of Saturday sent a lot of people home. The weather did clear up for a while later that day and we did get alot of flying in. Sunday was a good day with high winds, but we had fun!

Andy is a great host and went all out with T shirts he drew and had printed and we had enough food and drink for a small kite army. No bon fire cause the winds were just wicked, but we did have a fire going at the camp site going almost non stop, I havent chopped that much wood in years!

Jim Barber came down and flew with us on Sunday and we flew his favorite skydog sport kite, the Sweet Emotion, it was great to fly with you Jim!

I think its safe to say that everyone had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed our Skydog Kites, what a great feeling!

A big thanks to everyone who attended, and even bigger thanks to Andy, Brenda and Tom. I cant wait to go back and fly and hang with all of you and your friends and family soon!

We plan on doing it again next year, but possibly in August just before or just after Long Beach. Anyone interested?

Best Winds,
