any information on what time to be there, any good hotels, what about parking? can I bring a tent? The info on the cherry blossom does not say much at all.
You can take Metro (rail system) if you can get close to a station. That's lots easier, than driving. NO PARKING is available at all if you are downtown after about 6:30 am. The festival officially starts at 10.
No tents unless they are erected by the sponsors. Stakes can only be driven into the ground w/Park Ranger supervision, and no more than 6 inches deep no matter what! No tying-off on the trees or monument markers.
If you are considering a hotel, get one serviced close-by with a metro station, could be DC, Virginia or Maryland, doesn't matter, except according to your price range. Nothing is within walking distance unless your wallet is pretty thick.
