David Davies/Skydancer tribute at Southampton Kite Festival

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hi all

As the subject header says, the organisers of the Southampton Kite Festival (June 18 & 19) in the UK are planning to include a David Davies / Skydancer tribute in the program for the main arena, and have asked me to gauge interest. Of course, I realise that most of the forum members are not UK-based, but still wanted to get the information out

So .... if you would be interested in joining in and flying your Skydancer, please contact me: arkraa@soton.ac.uk. Details are to be decided on later, once we know what kind of interest we can expect. The first step is simply to get a list of names.

Please feel free to spread the word, with my e-mail address as the central point of contact for this.

Although I don't expect many people from this forum would have attended, this is to inform anyone interested that the Southampton Kite Festival has been cancelled, due to a lack of resources.

The planned Skydancer tribute will not take place, but an impromptu tribute was held at the Brighton Kite Festival last weekend, shortly after the cancellation of Southampton was made public.
