Been a couple of years since anything more suited to my requirements has come along, so it's still...

5 Cosmics
3 Talons
3 Tridents
2 DS's

Everything else sits in another couple of bags for grabbing as the mood takes.

Now that Tom has started this, I assume he is going to do a statistical break down so we can see which is the most popular kite on the block.

Hope you are surviving the CO winter John!  It's crazy here - below freezing in Seattle at this time of year just shouldn't happen (but I will be heading out in it soon)!

Not a bad idea on the breakdown - my real reason is so that I can PM folks about some kites that I am obsessed with (aside from Lams that is - which appear to be quite popular here)!  Smiley

Just messed with it a little and it is 83 different kite models between 27 fliers or addicts.  Total of about 227 kites. Fearless is the top model.  Transformer and Mamba are a distant second.  Lot of people like to carry a SLK too.

No wonder the kite business is a charity business.  No big favorites.  Isn't this nice for us addicts.

Waiting for the snow to melt so I don't do stupid things like count kites.  Need to fly

I think I just realized that I am in the wrong line of business or golf is actually cheaper than kiting.   Some of your bags are more than I could ever afford to spend with multiple Fearless and other high-end boutique kites.

In my car, I haven't bought a bag yet:
Zephyr
4D
Silver Fox STD and UL
Mantis V2

My wish list includes:
Gemini
Saber II
Ocius
various mixes of STD, UL, and SUL.

on my "to be built list"
-Thornback II (Full scale to replace my 85% version)

So far to my count there are 94 different type of sport kites in the "A" list. Top brands seem to be Lam (Sky Sport), Prism, Rev, and BMK.   About 1/3 of the sporters carry a SLK in their "A" bag.

I was also able to glean other intertesting facts.  Average age is 14 mentally and 48 physically.  Blue eyes predominate.

Most kiters drink cheap beer also.  Can tell that by amount of money respresented in the kites.

Also if anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet send me a message with email and I will forward it.  I think my counting is about 95% correct.

I don't know, I have friends that spend $1000s on golf equipment, $10,000s on golf club memberships & trips... seems like a challenge to spend more on kites. Really, you could buy a piece of beach for what some people spend on golf...  Grin

That's true.  But I am a golf course superintendent and play all that I want for pretty much nothing.  Plus when you spend all your work time on a golf course, the last place you want to be for fun is on the golf course.  As I said, I may be in the wrong line of work... LOL.  It is nice that I live only 3 miles from the beach to get some kite time.

Seriously considering getting an MBA and changing careers though.
