Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hey Gang,
First and foremost, thank you to all of the great people that make Kite Party what it is. I can't name everyone, I'd have a 90+ names. A special thank you to the folks that donated such amazing items to the auction, and of course to all that bid! For the most part, the auction pays for this event, so again... thank you. One guy alone paid the equivalent of about 30% of the entire auction. I don't want to mention his name, he can do that if he wishes.

Some changes/improvements for next year will include at the least:

2 Additional speakers to the P.A. System
Pre order of apparel
Possible change of venue for Saturday night dinner/auction (closer, better lighting, etc)
Sunday night dinner at Zack's on the beach (extended menu, bbq, etc).

I'm happy to hear any other suggestions you all have.

For us, no need to change the menu at Zach's or the Saturday night venue, but OK if you do. We really enjoyed KIte Party this year as always.

This is a good idea!  Perhaps we can someone become 'on paper' officers that MUST attend according to the by-laws (or something).

When I first ran the idea of attending Kite Party past my wife, she asked, "what is that, like burning man, but with kites?".   I told her that I didn't think so, but that I would let her know once I went to one!

Thanks,
-Tom

Yes it was a great Kite Party Dave, thanks again. Bambi, John; nice to meet you both, I've met so many people I forgot everyones names. Thanks for letting me fly the Custom Enigmas, and anyone else who let me fly their kites. I'll be there again next year..  Smiley

But on a sad note

I'm looking to get a hold of the person who built the 6 stack of Premier Visions that was won at the dinner auction.. I had it up for 5 secs and the front bridle snapped. Cry

Had a great time as usual!  Thanks for hosting such a great event again. Smiley
On the changes:  I really liked Sunday dinner at Zack's.  Extended menu or the same; whichever it will be great.  (And I made sure to search them out on TripAdvisor and leave a good review for them).  Smiley

That would be Mike MacDonald, "kiteking" here on the Forum

I'm glad you got that stack, you had mentioned wanting one earlier that day!

Enjoyed watching the KP on the Kite Connection Cam. It helped viewing when someone put orange cones out in the field. We could see kites and fliers when they were standing near the cones. Many kites were out of view and could only see the fliers when they were closer to the pier or only see the kite if the flier was closer to the ocean. Great improvement for this year and hopefully do the same for next year.
