Holey Contest Winners Announced

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Thanks to John for putting this on and special thanks to Bambi for putting up with his antics (as always) 

Thanks to all that took the time to enter.

We decided on three prizes ...

One for the worst guess.  mikenchico guessed that no one would defile a kite in this manner and entered a guess of zero.  For that Mike gets a Prism EO Atom (donated by Prism Kites).

For the second closest guess, and the leader up until the last 1/2 hour of the contest a Prism Stowaway Parafoil (again, thanks to Prism for their support) goes to Jynx with a guess of 1880 (Colleen, email or PM me your shipping address).

And the winner, who waited until the last minute to submit is Andy Kramer (rxburner) who calculated there would be 2526 holes (less than 1/2 of the actual number).  Andy, I dug into the the classic kite collection and came up with a Zero Wind Mini Decca.  Kite is in great shape, but I'll be darned if I can find the assembly instructions.

The total number of holes (5500) was an estimate so if you'd like to challenge that number you are welcome to grab a full size copy of the photo that John provided and count them your self

Gee thanks .... I think  ... but I was right on the "Holey Contest v1.0", John did not perforate the classic Rev 1.

I didn't make a second guess after the contest became v1.5 and it seemed likely John might poke a supposedly trashed Rev 1.5 full of holes, too much thinkin' for me
