One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Yeah I really want to see that new Ginga, the pic on KB looks good. Is that a Standard or a Stretch? I'm thinking I like the profile of it better then the Urban Ninja, anxious to hear how you compare them.

I don't recall Bob sharing it here yet .... Bob's Ginga below

Hmm, odd because the forecast for Sac area only shows 20% chance of precip.  Move Chico Kite day to Sacramento?   Wink

Forecast here is calling for winds in the mid 20's, but only a 50% chance of rain.
If it doesn't rain, there'll be a lot of dime store kites in the trees.  Cheesy

Let see sunny with 8mph winds in elk grove area vs high chance of rain and 15+ mph in Chico.  YEa I think Sac area looks promissing for weather Tongue  IF your fly in Chico falls through you can join in at Elk grove regional park with me, and at least me so far Cheesy

For you out of town folks, Chico Kite Day is a Community Event, this looks to be the 26th annual. Chico loves a get together, in our little town of 90,000 people over 10,000 people have shown up. In 2009 when we had ballistic winds that kept most people indoors 5,000 die-hards hit the park anyway. Mostly friendly, but do you really want that many of us on your door step?

Yeah even if the weather does get pushed higher north and the sun makes an appearance the ground is saturated around here too. This has been a long straight string of storms for the end of March.

Well that would be a bit much to have show up Grin  Thanks for the info, I didn't know it was a big event.  I'll have to add that to the list of "Should check out" events.

It gets an amazing turnout for a community event. I've been to other town "Kite Day's " and 100 or less people show up in towns three times our size and more. People I know who get around more then me who have come are always just as amazed at the community event. Too bad they are all just one day a year kiteflyers and only purchase dollar kites or Costco specials for the most part. No organization, no contests, no demo's, just a picnic in the park, kids, a tangle of lines, and tree's full of kites. Not to good for us more serious kite flyer's as there are always mishaps but that's what happens when you fly with other people.
