One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

BLOSSOM FESTIVAL IS ON!!! Just got the notice this evening: As of Thursday afternoon it was looking pretty grim. But through lots of negotiating and the City of Washington showing wonderful flexibility, both the Festival and the Parade WILL happen. The Festival still is in same place on Pennsylvania Ave between 13 and 19th street.

I enjoyed the festival this year, tons of fun and pretty good crowds, weather was nice but there could have been a little more wind blowing.  I finally defeated my friend Ian Willoughby in Hot Tricks.  He's approaching his "teen years" now and not as incredibly cute as when he was younger.  He can be taken down now!  Naturally I never got past the second round (Paul Dugard) and Andrew Albosta FINALLY came out on top as this year's Hot Tricks king.

Another highlight was the hang glider guys strapping kids into the harness and bucking 'em round during a simulated flight.  That looked so cool I wanted a turn too!
Alden Miller's Cherry Blossom Rev 1.5 knock-off won the festival's theme award and I believe the People's Choice or the Grand National Champion.

Jeff and Joyce King made the evening news over in the big kite field, hustling a tiny kite (by their standards, sutton 252).

Today I feel 300 years old, I hurt from my ears to my ankles but would do it all over again if I could!
