One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

You know Superman, Batman, Spiderman ... but have You ever heard about VECTORMAN?

This awsome guy formerly was a single-liner kite named SUPER-HERO, made by NTK.
I converted it to RC as a VECTOR KITE using PremierRC components.
VECTORMAN has pretty good flight abilities, and seems to be the ideal 'garden kite' to scare Your neighbours  Cool
How they might feel, You can see in the video on my website

or on Youtube:

Very nice! I have one of those kites. It's a Martin Lester design. It's incredibly good in very low winds. The R/C conversion looks great. Was it tricky to do?  Wink

Pretty neat, but it's not a kite...

So, exactly what makes it not a kite?

So a dual line sport kite, or a quad for that matter, is tethered?

Yes, SLK's, Dual's, Quad's, or more lines are all considered to be "tethered", they are restrained in some form.

The Vectorman is free flying, it is not restrained or tied to anything. It "Was" a kite, once untethered it became something else. Webster's recognizes the term "Kite like".

Oh Yeah - and Tetherman is fantastic, I think that's the best re-use of the Vector Power Unit I've seen. Makes me want to build a Superman kite with flowing cape and all, If I only had a Vector  Sad  What a kid pleaser it must be.

Made by X kites. My wife purchased one at Airwaves last year. Check Sam's or Costco.

Thanks Chris & Rob - I'll check it out.  I've never been interested in the RC "kites", but the dragon really works.  Well done flattermann!

Hi Ken,

Thanks for compliments  Smiley

Of all the bird-kites I converted to RC - Vector Kites, the Dragon-Kite delivered best flight results: Allways stable in the air (by mean of the long tail), able to fly also in windsxpeeds up to 2 bft, and, doing some dragon-like aerobatics.

Would be interesting to have a version between 300cm and 400cm - but hav'nt seen one yet, seems, that nobody makes and offers it.
