One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hello fellow Kiters!

I'm pretty new to kiting and this forum but am completely hooked.
My wife got me a Quantum for Xmas and i flew it at Bermigui. (NSW Costal town.) and i was blown away at the awesome winds the kite was flying in. Looking back i'm sure i was flying the kite in far above recommended wind limits described for it, but it held well even if i did some serious lawn darting!

This addiction has well and truely taken hold. Because i've brought the Prism DVD and have read forum threads till the wee hours of the morning untill i've fallen asleep.

I'm getting a Hypnotist soon as well. So i look forward to stepping up a little.

I'm also dreaming of the high end kite i want to have when i'm better pilot. Just not sure what sort of pilot i want to be yet, Precision, wild trickster, abit of both... or a graceful dancer.. maybe i should get better at flying first.

Which brings me to the whole point of this posting which is that, i'm flying as much as i can with the Q when the winds allow, it is a heavy kite.
But i'm pretty much on my own at the parks and beaches around Williamstown and Newport. I've checked the AKA site and while other states have places and dates for fun get togethers, Melbourne is sadly listed as 'TBA.'

Where are the Melbourne Pilots? Where do they fly? how often? when? what do they fly?

I'd would be great to have some company some times. and learn some new stuff

Cheers Dave

Hi Dave,

You're not too far away from where it happens with any regularity, Moran Park, St kilda, next door to the Marina and servo. If the wind is Sotherlyish and aroud 10 knots you might just find one of us  Wink and if it's a W/E possible a few more  Smiley

drop down and say hello.
