Local Kite Stores

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

A few years ago I lived about a hour away from a local kite shop. I've since moved and the closest kite store is 3 1/2 hours away (not really "local"). I was in need for some center Ts for an Easy Lite and Jen at Level One pointed out that a kite store in MI should have some. I called them and they did. My brother lives close to that shop so he's going to pick some up.

Point of the post... for those of you who have local kite stores, go in and buy, buy, buy! I know it's been said before so support the local stores but while your supporting them... your _really_ supporting yourselves! You are _so_ very lucky to have a local shop where you can pick up supplies and the like.

Also, it's _tough_ (TOUGH) to support kiting and kite events without a local kite store! There are many wonderful online stores that support out of state events (I can't name them here) but local stores can do so much. Next time your in your local store, even if you don't buy something, stop by the counter and let them know you appreciate their presence!

With that said, I don't mean to take away from online stores such as GWTW, Steve and Chris are great. They also ran a local shop so I don't think they would disagree either.

The Store in Tucson closed many years ago, then the one in Phoenix. The closest real kite store is now San Diego

Was going to say you have a couple stores in Las Vegas, but I see they are 70 miles further from you then San Diego 

Luckily my local kite store is GWTW, we do usually try to spend a little coin at any local stores when we travel to festivals out of our area. But it's getting hard to find anything we want to purchase anymore, cheap tourist kites, flags and garden spinners is about all we see anymore

My "local" kite shop is 1670 kilometres away.   I still buy a fair bit of stuff from them though.
