Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Registration is open for the Richmond Washington Regional Sport Kite Competition to be held on September 10, 2011 at Taylor Park which is east of Ashland, VA.  To register, go to http://www.richmondairforce.com and click on the RWRSKC link.  This is a laid-back, educational competition for novice competitors to learn from and prepare for Eastern League and AKA competitions.  RWRSKC 2011 will offer individual dual- and multi-line precision and ballet events.  If you've been flying multi-line for a while but never competed, or have just started and would like to learn more about multi-line competition, then RWRSKC '11 is a perfect opportunity for you!  RWRSKC 2011 will also offer a novice flying clinic for new fliers that will pair each novice with an experienced flier to teach basic precision skills, landings, maybe even some basic tricks!  This will take place on Saturday morning, which will allow new competitors to sharpen their skills before competing.

Non-Novice competitors are also welcome to compete and help with the novice clinic.

RWRSKC has gained a reputation as a "Champion Maker"!  If you have any questions about registration, location, sponsorship, etc., please email me at thereallaura1@yahoo.com.

Just a reminder that there are less than 6 weeks till RWRSKC.  The date is 10 September.  The location is Taylor Park, which is just east of Ashland, VA.  Although the competition is designed for Novice fliers, it will be one last opportunity all fliers to hone their skills for the upcoming AKAGN.  The precision figures are posted on the website www.richmondairforce.com.  Registration for non-Novices will close on 3 September.  Novices may register at any time between now and when their first discipline starts.  We already have two Novices registered.  Don't wait till the last minute.  Sign up now.

It is now less than three weeks until RWRSKC (Richmond Washington Regional Sport Kite Competition) -- Saturday, 10 September 2011. And less than two weeks until registration closes for non-Novice fliers -- 3 September 2011.  We have the field -- Taylor Park -- east of Ashland, VA, we have the sound -- courtesy of Terry Murray, we have a Chief Judge -- Will Smoot, we have some Novice competitors, now all we need is you!  Register, http://www.richmondairforce.com/  and invite a new flier -- there is no charge for Novice fliers and they can register at the field on the 10th.

One more day for non-novices to register for RWRSKC.  Registration closes at the end of the day on 3 September.  Its hard to believe that September is here and in 8 days we will be at Taylor Park for the competition.  For those of you who have never participated,  Taylor Park is great flying field.   It is an AKA sanctioned event with points counting toward the AKAGN in 2012.  For the Novices, there will be an hour of one-on-one instruction by non-Novice level competitors, then they will have the opportunity to shadow judge the Open level competition or just watch before they compete.  Its easy to register, thanks to Marc Conklin.  Go to www.richmondairforce.com and click on the RWRSKC link.  The competition figures are published there also.  Novices do not need to register early registration is free for the them, but if youd like to let us know you are coming, you can send an email to thereallaura1@yahoo.com or conklincomputer@gmail.com .  If you are a non-Novice register today.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Marc or me.

P.S.  Directions to Taylor Park are on the website also.
