Looking for a low wind kite

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I agree, the repair in the Mongoose is so minor it is not really worth worrying about.  I have some kites that have damage much more sever than that and they still fly perfectly fine (once the repair work was done).  The Mongoose, just stick a little bit of dacron tape over the leading edge and your done, nice thing is that the repair will be nearly invisible unless you know what you are looking for.

I also agree that the Shadow is a great kite that will fly perfectly in your wind range, and it is a kite that won't break the bank.  With a little bridle tweeking it will fly nice in those winds with very little work/effort and will also do some very nice tricks.  If you want to spend a little more, the nicest UL kite that I have right now is the Widow Maker UL.  It will fly in the 1-8 mph range no problem and it tricks like a monster in the 2-5 mph range with very little work.  For me, it is the best UL kite I have flown.

I have a Zephyr and 4D -
The Z will fly in 5km/h (3.1mph) - fairly easily, with footwork and is quite trick capable in that range, for me.
My 4D only comes out when not much else will fly - its not very tricky either. I'm sure someone with more skill than me could get more than axles/540's/slides. But its indeed fun.
Are you looking for a low wind kite with full on trick capabilities? - or a low wind kite that will get you flying in next to no wind with less tricking ability?

The mongoose mentioned above over in the swap is a good deal - if you want a full sized UL trickster.
