Now there's stuff I never even heard of. A 'poisoned ivy'? It's just me but I like the tricks that look deliberate and smooth - probably the more basic stuff. I like a nice jacobs ladder that pauses at each position, a 540 that goes nose away, around and back up, a nice flic flac that pauses in the fade. I'm not a huge fan of the speed stuff that's nearly impossible for the spectator to figure out what the heck is supposed to be happening.
I think there are a number of tricks, if not all, that from a different perspective look like the kite has something wrong with it, and is about to crash. Recently there was a video posted of a Freestyle Duel between 2 of the best pilots in the world, and from the 3rd person perspective, it looked like they were flying a couple of broken kites. The same event, viewed from the pilot's perspective was a lot easier to watch.
I thought the same thing as you about tricks like the Comete. Until you see someone do the trick right, with style, it does look like cr@p.
BTW... I want to know what the 'Twisted Sister' trick is.
