One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

it was one year ago that my Girlfriend and i went to the SOKF. Right after the Festival we went and picked up two kites and started flying them that next day. Now we have opened a kite store in our town and it is doing well. We wanted to make it to the SOKF this year but have to man the store. Thank you SOKF! We will be there next year no matter what!

Our Store is called Wind & Fun located in Clearlake Oaks California. I feel that it is all due to the SOKF!

Sothern Oregon Kite Festival

Always the third weekend in July

Set up the tent for the "kids kite workshop" today, along with the HQ tent, the "lunch" tent, and the tent for the stage

Kite flyers are beginning to arrive, and the vendors come in tomorrow (Friday) in the morning

Looking forward to seeing Allen and the rest of the fliers

The weather was perfect today with a 10-12mph breeze

ordered 3 more days of the same

Well, the unheard of happened, rain two days (3-counting today) in a row. But that did not dampen the the spirit of the flyers, or keep the spectators away.

Al & Aaron, Amy & Conner, iQuad (happy b-day to Willow), Sundowners, Penny, the Kings, Susan and David, Al, Susan, Ronda, Lindsey, Ron & Sandy, Mark & Jeanette, Ben, Ron, Rod & Cindy, Gary, and Nathan all dazzled the crowd with kites, kites, and more kites, The Windchasers helped put smiles on a hundred plus kids with great flying kites.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend, looking forward to next years, sunny, windy event

See you all soon

Good job Mike & everyone else involved. I know it's a lot of work putting the festival together. Because of my work schedule, this is the only kite fest I can make it to each year so I appreciate it.

Thanks to the hard core fans too, sitting out there in the wet all day Saturday & Sunday AM. It was pretty nice most of the afternoon on Sunday though.

C ya all @ the FF
