One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Friday is a free fly at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. Conditions should be about perfect. The wind is 7 mph from SSW (off the water somewhat), temp: 83 degrees, nice humidity. I'm thinking about going on Friday to fly because conditions don't get much better than that.

Saturday I'm volunteering to help set up (from 7:00 am to whenever) and whatever they need. I hope to get some flying in on Saturday but I want to offer to volunteer first.

Anybody interested in being there on Friday? I will be nice to put some faces to the names I've seen here.

(I'm going to LSP today late afternoon but wind speed is 11-13 mph - a little faster than I like but it's been a long time since I've been there.)

It is so tempting to play hooky from work on Friday... I'm going to do my best to make it there for at least one of the three days.

SE is what you ideally want there.  Pretty much blowing from right under Lady Liberty's skirt, as we used to say.  Used to hang out there all weekend waiting for that wind shift, but it was always worth it.

It was nice to get there yesterday. It wasn't as hot as I thought with the wind blowing off the water. Wind speed was higher than I like but the Nirvana HW was nice to fly with partial vents. The direction was probably SSW but it was nice and steady. Ron's right - the best is from the SE.)

It's a long drive home though. If I have to be at LSP on Saturday at 7:00 am I'm not too sure I want to do three hours worth of driving each day Friday AND Saturday. I might though if the forecast for the conditions stick.
