Request for comments about modifying a Jole Scholz F22 Kite

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

Hello,

   I have a Joel Scholz F22 kite, it is a really nice kite, but it is too large to fit into a suitcase for traveling. So I want to make some mods to it. Here are the mods I am thinking of...

• Use couplers/joiners in the fiberglass rods so that each section is small enought to fit is a suitcase, I will reassemble the rods when I get to my destination
• Replace the fiberglass rods with carbon fiber rods with couplers
• I have also noticed that the bridal connects to cloth tabs sewn into the kite. Should they be connected to the large rod on the bottom of the kite?
