One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Just curious.... why are some people that are selling kites in the US, not willing to ship to Canada?
I've never had this problem... but a friend of mine has tried to buy several kites... and coincidentally, none of the sellers are willing to ship up here.
Is there a reason i'm not aware of? - is it a hassle? Fees i'm not aware of?

Dano,
I ship to Canada all of the time.  It really isn't that big of a deal to complete the needed customs paperwork to ship kites to Canada.  Some people just don't like the customs paperwork and having to go get estimates for the items their shipping.

Thanks for the reply, Charly.
There is some frustration being felt about it - for the sellers out there - Cross border buyers are usually prepared to pay that little extra for the hassle of the paperwork.   Grin Grin Grin

I have had similar problems with people not willing to ship to Canada  Cry   Shocked ,  and the excuses were so silly   Angry  that i just went and ordered from the builders. Shipping from Canada to the south range from $15 - 25 Can. roughly , and there is only one form to fill at the PO , i have had no problems whatsoever with that. I can only guess that they did not want to sell you the kite. Roll Eyes , or there is some other reason which i am not aware, if so, can some one explain.

I have had stuff going to and coming from Canada.  The big hassle seems to be getting someone to ship something from the UK.  Cry

Hmm, odd I've never had issues with shipping to/from Canada.. or South Korea, UK, or France for that matter.  I guess it all depends on the buyer/seller and how much they're willing to do.  When I sent a kite to South Korea & the UK it was just 1 customs form for USPS, not a real big deal.
