One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Just thought I would give you guys an early heads-up about next year's T. I Kite Festival.
Yes, there will be one.
And yes, there will be an Eastern League Sport Kite Competition.
Mark your calendars and join us if you can.
January 14th and 15th, 2012

Gary

I will put this on the calendar as soon as 2012 is added.

Anyone planning to be at TI in 2012?   We are going to be there flying SLK and I will be competing in Dual line.

Yup, I'll be there. I know of many people that will be returning from last year as well.

For those of you that are coming to TI be sure to pack some lights.
We are going to have a night fly.

Also for the Rev fliers there will be Rev Games for prizes and glory!

I've got some cool lights for a night fly and an itchin' for Rev games too.  We arrive on the 12th in the morning from BWI, departing on the 18th after lunch.  I can hardly sleep at night I'm so excited!

I'm about 7-8 hrs away.  I would like to drive down for the show/competition or even just one day.  What day is best to come down?  If I come Saturday is there an informal group flying Sunday?  Hotels? Prices?  Thanks in advance.

Between Saturday and Sunday the "best" day depends on the weather. However, if the weather is good on Saturday, I'd pick that day as the Eastern League usually tries to fit as much of the competition in on that day as they can... providing that the weather looks good. But everything else happens both days and you can't go wrong.

Most people are staying at the Thunderbird. It might be full and I think rooms are around $120. There are less expensive rooms at hotels that are not on the beach side and there are several still within walking distance. Search Hotels.com for more info on this.
