Light wind quad recommendation?

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I would like to purchase a quad line kite that will fly well in light winds 1-3mph. most of the time. Preferably something slower and not too fast and twitchy.

The best is a Guildworks great deca....ultimate in indoor/no wind  slow flight.....the Sul revs are next best....
There is also a Guildworks zerowind that is more affordable than the great deca and has a accessory bow rod to fly it in higher winds too...I know of one for sale on the east coast if you interested: shoot me an email

You may also consider a Rev 1.5 SUL (Super Untra Light) with 2 wrap spars, using 50# lines... works for me!

Man, I am so old skool at this point. I haven't flown in probably three years or more. 

Life intervenes, you know.

Anyway, I had pretty good luck with my Rev 1.5 with a P300 leading edge and short lines (25' - 35'). I have fairly heavy lines (150#) because I don't sleeve them. I also have quad sticks on that particular kite.

Geez, I wonder if anyone even knows what I'm talking about!

Light wind flying comes with practice..
Get yourself a 1.5, SLE or whatever rods it comes with,
Fly that and work up your skills.

Upgrade to the race rods, and you'll have a kite that is much more versatile in a wider wind spread
rather than having to put it away when the winds pick up.

The Rev really shines when it gets real windy. You'll see!
