Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

+1 on that as well, everything and anything gets recommended here!  Smiley

I recommend the silver fox - its the least expensive fully capable trickster that I actually enjoy flying.   The ULs do not go super low, but they go low enough.  SF 2.3 or 2.5 are both great and Steve carrys them.

I have some great flying sport kites just laying here, and for a local fellow kite flier, sure, I will hook him up with both one of my kites and my video if he wants one, I should have been doing this all along.  Brad, email sent. Looking forward to flying with you.

If your winds are really low most of the time and you get a chance to meet up with Dodd Gross you might ask to try his Sky Dog, Black Dog UL, bigger then the 4D but smaller then a full size. I've never flown one but it looks promising for an entry level kite in the $120-$130 range with an estimated wind range down to 2 mph.

Welcome to the Prism forum! Here you will get recommendations for Prism since it is the featured kite company by GWTW for many years.

If you have not bought a prism kite yet, give me a call, I will hook you up with a dvd and a good flying sport kite this week. I live in York, maybe we can meet half way, in Lancaster maybe. Or I can meet you at my favorite kite field at Sam Lewis State Park in York County. I have a few used Skydog Sport Kites would gladly give you one for free.

Really Dodd?

Yes, really.  You expect better?

On a related note, do you remember when Dodd did this?

OK I can no longer hold my tongue I've bitten it so hard its bleeding.  I have no idea what went on here between Dodd and Steve (or others)in the past and I don't care to know.  I've seen enough whining.

TBH Dodd if you want to know why your kites aren't more popular then take a good look at this

You have insulted not only the host of the forums, but posters in this thread as well as another company.  AFter trying a sweet emotion and reading Chilese's comments on the crossfire comp from the KTA convention I had been considering adding a crossfire to my bag and getting some line time on one of your kites so I have some personal experience to base an opinion on,  but then I see comments like this from the designer himself.  WEll Dodd you only have yourself to thank  for me now eliminating anything Skydog from touching my kite bag.  Attitude plays a big roll in business for bringing in customers and IMO your showing a piss poor one here.  Insult your customer base enough and you will have no customers.

HOw is this related to a new fliers search for a kite Kevin?  I must be missing something here.

My appoligies to Brosenburger and I hope this doesn't turn you off from what is largely a great community of people and some of the most helpful you will find.

You are quite right, Mr. Ike---I'm as guilty as Mr. Gross is of being an ass.  My post offered nothing to the thread, it was a knee-jerk reaction to reading the same old stuff from a guy that used to be an idol of mine and turned in to something a lot less.  My most profound apologies for messing up this thread more than it all ready was.
