Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely the DS. It's the latest and greatest from Tim Benson. I have the DS and love it. You really don't hear much about the Gem anymore because the DS is so much more popular.

I have both, and love flying both. If I was forced at gun point to pick only one of the two, I would pick the DS. That's not because there's anything amiss with the Gem, but because the DS is such a fantastic kite. Fortunately, no gun has been sighted near my kites yet ...

The Gem is fun. But the DS is Great (plus it's fun too). You wouldn't have to force me to pick it over a Gem Wink

If you can't fly before you buy, the DS is the safer choice. The Gem is less like other modern kites you may have flown, but many people really click with it.
