I've got my plans printed and am preparing to build templates now.  I've got a few other projects in the works, so may be a while.

Just make sure that you download the last version (iridium-final).

I've already printed the original version of the plans that was posted in this thread.  is the only difference the location of the inner standoff?  I was thinking I may make a hole in the original spot and the new location (2cm further from the spine).  Let me know if there were any other changes.  If so, I can get the new plans printed instead.  I'm looking forward to building a Std. and UL version of this kite.  Already got my frame materials set aside.

from what I could tell the parts file was missing a panel on the original, and on the layout two panels where the same letter.  might want to use the final version at least for the parts file

thanks for pointing that out.  I hadn't noticed.  I will get the parts PDF reprinted... may do the a4 size at home just for the one missing panel.

other than the correction to the panel layout and lettering, is the plan the same (still realizing the change of the inner standoff location from the original)?

The missing panel was corrected in the final version, since i don't noticed it before since i was cutting the plan to do the templates. The sails is the same, but the inner standoff is moved outwards to increase a bit the drag area for a litte more presence on the lines accross the wind window. The position of the standoff on the lower spreader must be moved accordingly to the new "measures.pdf" file.

To modify my Iridiums i simply made another hole 2 cm outwards and replaced the connector,  moving the lower spreader connector to have a 90 angle with the standoff.

The iridium-final file contains all the corrections implemented.

I'm very happy that you are building two versions of the kite  Smiley and looking forward for the photos and your impressions in flying.

Many people trying it said that it is well balanced and very trick capable with very little oversteer and good controllability.

And of corse i like them very much since they are based on my flight style.

THis is the bridle for more precision and pull:

A (incidence): 50 cm
B (external) : 53 cm
C (discharge): 59 cm
T (reverse) : 4 cm

Anyone currently buiding it?
