I like Google+ a lot. I think Facebook might have updated itself so that it has similar settings now, but on G+ you can group people together so that you only share updates with certain groups. For instance, I have a photography circle that I share photo related stuff, a circle of just people I grew up with, etc. If I had a bunch of kite flying contacts, I would group them into a kite circle and post kite related stuff only to them. My photographer friends don't really care about kites that much, so they wouldn't be subject to any posts about kites (unless I posted to both circles...or all circles).
That's all been doable on facebook since well before google+ went public

I'm not all geeky about my social networking sites - I figure it's the actual interactions that are important rather than some interface. So long as most folks I want to keep in touch with are on facebook, I'll stay there. If there's a mass migration, I'll move on but I certainly don't have the time to keep up with two such sites.
