Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

It is a bit larger body but I have the Canon SX10 IS and have been very pleased.  I started with the 2 generation older IS 5 and upgraded a few years ago.  The SX 10 is now 3 generations old but I have read the SX 20 and 30 were not worth considering as an upgrade.  I am looking at the SX40.

The SX10 is:
*a bit smaller than the new SX40, bigger than a compact but we carry it on all our trips and events
*has plenty of optical zoom
*uses standard AA batteries (easy to pickup on a trip, no recharging required)
*easy access to SD card (I pull out the card and use card reader on my laptop instead of using a cable to hookup camera)
**takes really nice pictures
*good selection of point and shoot or take more control

Why would I want another camera:
*Not fast enough for actions shot, primarily my son playing sports only about 1 frame/sec - Want 3 to 7 fps (much more bucks)

You can find a nice previously loved SX10 on ebay, etc for $125 - $200.  Bought my IS 5 and SX10 used and they were like new
