One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I have been trying to link some photos from Picasa to the Swap Meet forum, but the link that should be there is not showing up to allow this to happen?
I tried downloading FoxFire, but MS would not allow that to happen either. Embarrassed

Suggestions please.  John C has been helping, or shall we say trying, me out but even he is at wits end.  I am going to owe him a bottle of Glenlivet by the time this is over with.
Advice please and thank you

I've never used Picasa, but are there options to make your gallery and/or photos public? I'm asking, because some of these services keep them private as a default, then you can go in and choose to allow others to view. The other thing I'm wondering about is whether or not there is a grace period before a user's account is open and images are available for viewing.

Well I upgraded to the premium and while it gave me the necessary MB, it did say something about "might have to wait" 24 hours for the download to take affect.  Maybe I will have to twiddle till tomorrow.   Undecided

Thanks for the help

The album is public.

His account is showing 21 GB so Picasa has recognized his upgrade.

Although perhaps not all features get activated at the same time. (odd, but possible)

When he is on his album page he has the blue

Link to this album.

However, when he is on an individual photo page he does NOT have

Link to this photo.

I thought IE might be blocking the feature somehow, but I am just guessing.

Hi Thief,
You have missed all the fun. Grin  I have them all done, but getting there has caused John C hair to straighten out a little more and turn a little whiter.

So todays dilemma is to wait and see what the next 23 hours bring and hopefully it will bring me the link I need/want from Picasa.  Otherwise I have spent $5 for nothing (today) and that will not make my finance director very happy.   Lips sealed

I'm having the same issue from the FireFox end. I bet it's just a simple propagation issue. If so, it probably won't even take the 24hrs.... but one never know, do one?

Thanks thief,

Both you and skb retain the actual skills on how to post photos, while I have come to rely on the semi-automated process using the Picasa and GWTW features.

And jocko, don't think my hair could get much whiter.

i have completely given up on posting pictures this method...i found the same thing that the link to make it easy to post went away...i wonder why.....

so..i just right click the image itself...choose "copy image URL" (i use chrome) and then use that url to post the picture here in the forum.....

In the time it took me to type my message just above, Jocko's stuff shows up. I can see his album and all of the shots. So, it's all good I suppose.

I'm Old Skool- right click/copy the Thumbnail Image URL, paste it inside the Full-sized Image's URL.

Like this:

Thats the only way I post
