We got a chance to fly the Chiroptera by Will Sturdy. Very, very nice. Sometimes it just seemed to sit still while flying. Truly a zero wind kite. Several photos start here: The Chiroptera we actually flew on Friday night (4 photos):

I saw this kite at the nationals in New Jersey this year. Very smooth. It was one of several that Will submitted. And would you believe is is like 17 or there abouts. A very talented man.

I real love mine. It flew the other day when nothing anyone else had would. Just hung in the sky like it was pinned. I've got to work on my inputs to it to get it to soar, glide and turn gracefully. Fun, fun kite.

Martijn i do ship overseas I have flown mine in winds up around 10mph and it has done superbly....as long as the wind is clean the wings just bow backwards and the kite forms a DEEP keel that keeps it quite stable..... granted..it is designed for xUL wind flying..... flat spins are easy and it is a slow glider that is easily recoverable. a video i shot last spring:
on clean low wind days i put it up around 150-200' and just let it soar! because it is about 5' wide it has more of a presence in teh sky then you would imagine! r

Just got to fly mine,a very TRUE SUL kite. Amazing well balanced, highly efficient flier. I had it on anywhere from 50' to 150' 30# line in very little wind: a "flags dont move at all" kind of wind. Spins gracefully, super slo-mo long glides, recoverable easily from nose down position; yup got all of that in spades plus. Now only if it hadnt start to get colder and dark Terrible phone pic attached [attachment deleted by admin to converve server storage space]
